HSE Policy
AL‑JASSASI TRD. is committed to minimizing health and safety hazards to employees,
contracted personnel, and the communities in which we operate, while safeguarding the global environment.
We establish, implement, and maintain health and safety management systems to ensure compliance with this policy
and applicable regulations of Oman.
We follow and implement all Omani statutes, regulations, and codes of practice on health, safety, environmental
protection, and pollution prevention. Our objectives are to:
- Provide adequate control of H&S risks arising from work activities
- Provide safe workplaces and a healthy working environment for employees and facility users
- Provide training to employees about health, safety, and environment
- Ensure all employees are competent to do their work with adequate training and instruction
- Prevent accidents and incidents at the workplace, every time
- Provide training to protect the environment, prevent pollution, and manage waste disposal
- Keep records of all incidents and accidents in workplaces
- Follow the HSE rules and regulations of all clients
- Conduct regular auditing & safety inspections; fully investigate accidents and near misses
HSE Plans
AL‑JASSASI TRD. prepares and implements HSE plans and procedures. This HSE procedure
manual captures best practices for preventing injuries. A copy of the HSE policy and plan is available to all employees
and at main site locations and accommodations.
General Safety Rules
- Employees must know and observe all safety rules applicable to their work. Compliance is a requisite for continued employment.
- All injuries during work, no matter how slight, must be reported to supervision and the medical section immediately.
Safety Training
It is important to train employees on HSE rules and regulations because untrained employees can hurt themselves and others,
cause unnecessary expenses, and develop methods that may not be the safest for performing tasks.
Safety Meetings
Safety meetings are conducted on a monthly basis within the company. Objectives include:
- Presenting the company’s safety philosophy
- Discussing safety problems and exchanging ideas
- Preparing employees for new operations
- Introducing changes in plant standards
- Training and acceptance of new practices
- Discussing new job procedures and changes
- Hearing and addressing employees’ safety concerns
- Giving and receiving general safety information
